When Marvi Lacar’s father died in 2008, she experienced feelings she wasn’t aware existed. Her conflicting emotions spiraled her into acute clinical depression. She kept a written journal about her experience, but sometimes there were no words. “The camera came out when writing didn’t suffice,” Lacar says.
